Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Around 4am Thursday, the Virginia Democratic Party announced State Senator Jennifer McClellan (D-Richmond) overwhelming won the primary for the Fourth Congressional District. McClellan received nearly 85% of the vote.
State Senator Joe Morrissey (D-Petersburg) finished second and has conceded. He says he will work to elect McClellan, who now faces Republican Leon Benjamin in the General Election in February.
