Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney took a trip to Washington, D.C., Wednesday, to lobby for infrastructure spending. President Joe Biden has proposed a two trillion dollar package, but not all Democrats (who control Congress) are on board.
Stoney, who appeared at a press conference with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, pointed out the city has long had to deal with a sewer overflow system that is outdated and dumps sewage into the James River. Stoney also says many bridges in the area saw their best years decades ago.
The House Transportation Chair says they will pass an infrastructure bill by July 4th.
