Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Richmond mayor Levar Stoney saying the allegations are ridiculous, reacting to the report in an online publication called The Intercept that the FBI may be looking at him in regard to the timing of the sexual assault allegations against former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax in 2019. He says that the FBI has not reached out to him or anybody else close to him.

That report centered around how the allegations came shortly after former Governor Northam's yearbook blackface scandal. The report seemed to indicate there was some political motivation to the timing of those allegations since Fairfax was next in line to be governor if Northam were to resign.

Stoney says the reaction to the claims are the same as they were in 2019: Baseless, false and ridiculous. He says the women who claimed that Fairfax raped them are to be deemed credible. He reminds that the person making the claim against Stoney is an accused rapist.
