Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Wednesday is the first of three days in a row that the area is threatened with severe weather. NBC 12 meteorologist Andrew Freiden says that the window for severe weather for Wednesday is between 4 and 8 p.m. The severe storms look to be more widespread rather than just scattered.
Freiden says the threat appears to be downpours and frequent lightning. He says that an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Straight-line winds, which can also bring damage, is more likely a threat along with flash flooding.
Freiden says this kind of storm is not the kind that will suck away all the humidity and leave comfortable days behind it. Freiden says the humidity will still be high, perhaps not as high as today.
