Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- The Richmond area could see some power outages Monday evening as a strong cold front comes through. However, before that happens, the area may also hit a record high temperature for the day, with the record sitting at 83 from 1961.
NBC12 Meteorologist Andrew Freiden says thunderstorms are not expected. Instead, he says it is more likely the area will see rain with heavy winds, which could trigger power line issues and outages. The timeline is likely after 7pm.
Behind the cold front, temperatures will be more seasonable with highs in the 50s on Tuesday.
