Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A three-year-old student at Maymont Preschool in Richmond brought a loaded gun to school in their backpack on Monday.
Officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to Maymont Preschool, located at 1211 South Allen Ave., just after 2 p.m. on Monday, May 6 for the report of a gun at school.
When police arrived, a staff member reported that a student had a loaded gun in their backpack. The firearm was recovered by staff members and then seized by Richmond Police. No one was injured.
A family member of the child who brought the weapon, 34-year-old Valentino Christian of Chesterfield County, has been charged with access to firearms by children.
