Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Interstate 95 South in Richmond, north of downtown, has reopened after a tractor-trailer hauling six rolls of industrial-sized paper overturned Thursday morning.
According to Virginia State Police, at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 near 7th Street on I-95, the tractor-trailer overturned. The affected area spanned from Belvidere to Bryan Park.
The driver, 33-year-old Savanna Purdue of North Carolina, was heading south in the left lane when the load she was hauling shifted, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn.
Purdue has been charged with reckless driving and improper passing. No one was injured, and the crash remains under investigation. At this time, police say speed appears to be a factor.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the area as clean-up efforts continue.
