Charlottesville, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - As the Omicron variant becomes dominant, the University of Virginia changes their protocol for the spring semester.
The school says, under the advice of public health experts, that they are saying that all UVA students, faculty and staff will be required to have proof of a COVID-19 booster shot in order to study, live or work on grounds in the spring semester.
To comply with the requirement, students will need to upload proof of an approved booster shot before the start of February to the website HealthyHoos. Faculty and staff have that same deadline to upload their proof to the Workday website. The school says that the holiday break will provide the ideal time for all concerned to get their booster.
The school says that medical and religious exemptions will apply.
