Charlottesville, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - This Saturday, the University of Virginia plays its first home game since the fatal shooting of three players last November. D'Sean Perry, Devin Chandler, and Lavel Davis, Jr., will be remembered in events starting on Friday.
In an interview with Charlottesville radio station WINA, Athletics Director Carla Williams says there will be a tree planting Friday at 3pm near the Culbreth Road Garage. The site is not far from where the shooting took place on a bus that had just returned from a field trip. Williams also says there will be pre-game ceremonies as well, and is encouraging fans to be in their seats by 11:30am.
The suspect in the shooting, Christopher Jones, is a former football player and a Henrico native.
