Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia Commonwealth University has officially introduced its new head basketball coach in an event Friday at the Siegel Center. Odom comes to VCU from Utah State, where he recently lead the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament.
Odom replaces Mike Rhoades, who took the head coach position at Penn State. Odom has Virginia ties, having played at Hampden-Sydney, and he was an assistant at Virginia Tech.
Odom says he doesn't view VCU as an opportunity, but rather a responsibility. He also says they will play fun basketball, and he wants his players to be leaders.
