VCU Police Investigating Alleged Sexual Assault on Campus

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault incident that was reported on Sunday, Feb. 4.

According to police, the incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Police say it may have taken place on the university’s main campus in the 900 block of West Grace Street.


“The survivor reported that they were followed from Cabell Library and sexually assaulted in an alley between W. Franklin Street and W. Grace Street by two males,” a police spokesperson said. “The suspects were strangers.”

The first suspect is described by police as a tall white man, between 40 and 50 years old, with a gray beard. Police said the second suspect was a white male in his late teens to early 20s with sandy blond hair.

VCU police said the incident “may pose a serious or continuing threat to campus safety.”
