Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Starting on July 1, DPOR will begin offering Universal License Recognition to professionals already licensed in other states.
DPOR will now recognize out-of-state licenses for trade professionals who have at least three years of experience in their field, maintain good standing in all states where they are licensed, have passed a competency exam, met training standards for their original state license, and have paid all applicable Virginia fees.
DPOR says this will grow Virginia's workforce and reduce "regulatory burdens" of working here. They say they are ready to get started receiving applicants as soon as the policy takes effect.
