Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Northam Administration has announced that all Virginia adults will be eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine starting on April 18th. The announcement comes just as Central Virginia moves into Phase 1c, which includes additional essential workers.

Virginia's Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula says Phase 1c is a relatively small group, and should not take much time to work through. Eligible does not mean actual shots, however, and Avula says it will likely take through May to get everyone who wants one at least one shot.

Avula says recently publicized issues with a batch of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine could cause some delays in the May timeline. It will not adjust the April 18th date. He also says at this point, next week's deliveries appear to be on target.
