Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - This weekend, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) is offering free admission to the “Dawoud Bey: Elegy” exhibit.
The exhibit features 42 photographs and two film installations by contemporary American artist Dawoud Bey.
The VMFA says the exhibit – the third in a series of exhibits focusing on Black history – features “never-before-seen” images taken in Richmond, with a focus on the “harrowing journeys and human realities of the Virginia slave trail, Louisiana plantations, and Ohio’s Underground Railroad.”
Admission to the “Dawoud Bey: Elegy” exhibit will be free to visitors on Saturday Dec. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 31. Tickets are available on the VMFA’s website. The museum says the free cost will be automatically applied at checkout.
