Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond has one of the hottest job markets in the U.S., according to a ranking released by the Wall Street Journal.

Richmond was named as the 11th-hottest job market in the country and had the second-highest growth in labor force size of any metropolitan area, according to the ranking.

The following metrics were used to determine which areas of over a million people had the hottest job markets:

• Average unemployment throughout the year
• Yearly labor-force participation rate
• Change in the average monthly employment and labor-force levels from last year
• Change in average weekly wages (not adjusted for inflation)

Richmond beat out D.C. and Raleigh, which were No. 12 and No. 13 on the list, respectively. The top three job markets were Salt Lake City, Jacksonville, and Orlando, according to the Journal.
