Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Senator Mark Warner (D-Va. ) says he'd like to see the debt ceiling removed forever, calling it an "arbitrary political tool" and a "live hand grenade." Warner made his comments shortly after an agreement was reached on a temporary lifting on the ceiling until December.

Warner says the U.S. is the only industrialized nation that does this process. He says if you do not like spending, do not vote for a Congress that spends. Warner also stressed the debt ceiling deals with debt previously appropriated, not any potential additional spending.

Failure to lift the debt ceiling could lead to an economic crisis.
