Charlottesville, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - In a detailed story with a student who also rode the charter bus where three UVA Football players were killed, the Washington Post reports the suspect in the case kept to himself during the ride. Christopher Jones was not a member of the class going on the field trip to Washington, D.C., but according to the witness, Ryan Lynch, had been invited by the professor.
Lynch says when the shooting started, she initially thought it was something else, but then she smelled smoke. She says she and a friend tried to do CPR on football player Lavel Davis, Jr. Davis was one of the three people killed.
Lynch says others have told her the suspect may have said something along the lines of "you guys are always messing with me," but she doesn't thing that makes sense given he was alone on the trip.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been offered.
