Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Several miles of I-95 shut down this morning following a single vehicle crash.

Early this morning, a Chesterfield Police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle near Route 1 and Weir road. That vehicle didn't stop, instead speeding away, and the officer initiated a chase.

The pursuit continued for some time, until the vehicle turned right on Route 10, going the wrong way on an exit ramp to Interstate 95. Soon after, the vehicle crashed, and the driver was taken into custody.

The crash shut down affected sections of I-95 for about an hour, according to Virginia State Police. Charges are still pending.
