Richmond, Va. (Newradiowrva.com) - Just 12 hours after a CNN Town Hall in which he faced questions about transgender bathroom policies, Governor Glenn Youngkin told "Richmond's Morning News with John Reid" thLastat his model policies conflict with federal law. Youngkin's office later clarified to say they do comply with current federal law.
Youngkin told the town hall, and Reid, that he would like to see gender neutral bathrooms for transgender students to use, calling it common sense. He opposes allowing transgender students using the bathroom which matches their gender identity.
Last year, Youngkin released new model policies for transgender bathroom and locker room use, reversing the ones released during the Northam Administration. Those polices remain under review.
