Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield says that despite testing positive for COVID-19 this past Wednesday, he hasn't experienced any symptoms and is hoping to test negative in time to play in the team's Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders:

Under the NFL's updated COVID-19 protocols, Mayfield, who is fully vaccinated, simply needs to be asymptomatic for 24 hours and be able to pass one of the three tests permitted under the league's rules to be cleared. According to him, he has the asymptomatic part down, so he'll need to have a test(s) go his way in time to be activated for Monday evening's game.

Initially slated to be played Saturday afternoon, Browns-Raiders was moved to Monday at 5 p.m. ET as Cleveland dealt with a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Browns hope that at least one of Mayfield or Case Keenum is able to test out of COVID protocols in time to play a game that will have drastic ramifications on the AFC playoff race. With a win, the Browns will pull even in terms of record at 8-6 with two of their AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. With a loss, the Browns will fall to 7-7, which would put them in last place in their division, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-6-1.

Nick Mullins -- who has a 5-11 career record in 16 starts with the San Francisco 49ers -- will start if Mayfield and/or Keenum isn't cleared.
