The only thing better than Aldi for me, is Trader Joes. Probably makes sense because they are owned by the same company. Anyways, if you're looking for some fun ideas for your 4th of July party, this might help you out! The employees that compiled this list are Tara Miller, marketing director and Matt Sloan, VP of marketing, so they know quite a bit about this stuff. Here are their favorites:
Cold Brew Barbecue Sauce – it’s their traditional barbecue sauce with added cold brew coffee which may sound a little strange but it’s said to go great with carrot dogs, hot dogs, burgers or a marinade for pork, chicken, seafood or steak.
USDA Choice Grade Angus Tri-Tip Kebabs – described by Sloan as skewers coated in a “sweet and savory marinade with a tamarin-based sauce.” Two skewers, eight ounces each with the sauce that “has a nice tang to it.
”Thai Coconut Curry Spicy Chicken Kebabs – chicken thigh kebabs with a Thai-style coconut curry sauce. They can be served “either warm or cooked and refrigerated because it just has so much flavor.
”Strawberry and Jalapeno Crisps – like a “seedy, fruity little slice of toast” prepared by slicing up baked and cooled bread and baked a second time to get the crisp.
Sparkling Lemonade – 70-calorie-per-can made with 12% juice and carbonated water, sugar and lemon juice concentrate and makes a great mixer for a lemon drop cocktail or lemon martini.
Sparkling Pineapple Green Tea – an 8.45 ounce can with only 10 calories and is “incredibly refreshing” according to the TJ’s employees.
Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade Water – according to Sloan, “this is a watermelon lemonade and that is meant to describe the flavor. It’s not a lemonade, so it doesn’t have any sugar added. There are zero calories, zero sugar, zero sweeteners of any kind in here” so it’s a non-guilty pleasure.
