You doughnut want to miss this one.
National Donut Day is today. Falling on the first Friday of every June, the holiday is a chance to celebrate the beloved, hole-y treats.
Here are some of the sweetest deals to take advantage of today.
Dunkin’
Dunkin’ is giving donut lovers a free donut with the purchase of any beverage. They’re also spreading the love over the weekend, with Grubhub Grubhub offering a free half-dozen donuts on Dunkin’ orders of $10 or more on June 6 and June 7, according to a press release.
Entenmann’s
The baked goods company is showing appreciation to first responders, selecting a winner each day to win $500, a $500 donation to the hospital or healthcare facility where each confirmed grand prize nominee is employed, and — oh yes — free donuts. Through June 18, you can nominate the healthcare worker in your life using #standingdoughnation & #promotion, and follow & tag @entenmanns. See the full rules here.
Krispy Kreme
From June 1 - June 5, the donut chain is giving customers a free donut of their choice while supplies last. The sweetest part? There’s no purchase necessary.
Salvation Army
The Salvation Army actually founded National Donut Day in 1938.
According to the organization, “This tradition dates back to World War I, when nearly 250 Salvation Army volunteers traveled overseas to provide emotional and spiritual support, fried confectionary, clothes and supplies to troops. For more than a century, the organization has continued to provide snacks, hydration, and comfort to the first responders and front-line workers.”
And they plan to keep the show of thanks up this year too, planning to “thank the men and women on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic by delivering donuts and hope.”
