In November it was confirmed that Disney was indeed moving forward with a 'Black Panther' sequel after the death of star Chadwick Boseman over the summer.

Disney's announcement said that Ryan Coogler will return to direct and the film will honor Boseman's legacy & portrayal of T'Challa. The film will focus on the characters from the award-winning first film.


The film has been pushed back to a July 8, 2022 release date while Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett will all reprise their roles for the film. Tenoch Huerta of 'Narcos: Mexico' has signed on to play a villain role.

They will honor Boseman's integrity in the film.
