Whether it’s bathing infrequently like Jake Gyllenhaal, or taking at least three showers a day like Dwayne Johnson, celebrity hygiene habits and what they smell like has become a topic of conversation on social media.

Now Jason Momoa, 42, has jumped into the fray, sharing that his bathing habits are more in line with The Rock’s than with the “Donnie Darko” star.
“I shower, trust me, I shower, I'm Aquaman, I'm in the f—ing water, don't worry about it. I'm Hawaiian, we got saltwater on me, we’re good,” he told Access Hollywood.
In a recent interview with People, Isabela Merced, Momoa’s costar in the upcoming Netflix film “Sweet Girl,” shared that “he smells like Palo Santo.”
The 20-year old actress continued, saying that “he smells good all the time. There's not one stinky moment, at least for me. Are you stinky right now?”
Momoa quickly defended himself, saying “hell no, I'm Jason Momoa. I don't stink,” before noting that he smells like fire and oil.
Merced noted that the “Game of Thrones” star smells like “a lot of essential oils. But if you give me a hug, it's like a breeze that's Palo Santo coming from his armpits.”
“Sweet Girl,” an action thriller that tells the story of a father and daughter who take on big pharma with unexpected consequences, comes out on August 20.
Momoa is also slated to appear in the upcoming movie “Dune,” based on the sci-fi novel of the same name. One person that probably won’t be watching the movie will be Momoa’s 12-year old son.
In November, Momoa told Men’s Health that the fight scenes are too much for him. “My son just loses it,” the actor said. “‘Papa, are you okay?’ And I’m like, ‘son, I’m sitting right next to you. We’re good. This was two years ago. Just watch the movie.’”
Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Oscar Isaac, the highly anticipated movie will premiere in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22.
