Mammal Monday
Mammal Monday / Matt Hribar

It’s Mammal Monday! Today’s mammal is the seal!

Seals are believed to have evolved from a land-based bear or otter-like ancestors! Seals are known for a layer of fat under their skin called blubber, and their fur coat helps them glide through the water.  A seal’s whiskers help it detect prey in dark murky waters! Seals live, on average to 25-30 years.
