There are 2 types of people in this world..

Person 1: Time for the 75,000 mile maintenance on my car.

Person 2:  I'll wait till the check engine light goes on.

Person 1:  Exercise a little each day, eat right, see small results consistently.

Person 2: Steps on scale, sees weight gain, looks into Keto and starvation techniques.

Person 1: Communicates with loved ones, looks for ways to show affection.

Person 2: They know I love them.

Person 1: Talks to God daily.

Person 2:  Lord, I know it's been a while, but I could really use a miracle right about now.

Maintenance..It's not just for your car.

Maintenance is hard.  Maintenance requires that you keep track of a bunch of stuff in your life, and to be proactive.  The problem is that we don't do maintenance on the things that need maintenance the most..and we procrastinate..until it's too late.

I am completely guilty of this and so are you.

We are busy.  There is a lot to get done.  There are some things I just don't care about maintaining.

Sure, my vacuum cleaner needs a new filter and the hair wrapped around the brush roll could make toupees for all the guys trying too hard at the Holiday Inn on Rockside.. ..But I'm gonna run it until it doesn't suck anymore..And then I'll just buy a new one.  It's not worth the maintenance to me.

I should probably rotate my tires every 5,000 miles..But it's 30 bucks, and I have to make an appointment and then wait...So unless it's free with an oil change, I'm just gonna buy new tires when I have no tread..It's not worth the maintenance..TO ME.

What in your life is worth maintaining?

Maybe it's the Dyson and your Michelins..That's OK.

For me?  It's God, Steph, and the rest of my family.

It wasn't always that way for me.  In fact, there was a time in my life it wasn't any of that. There was a time when the only maintenance I did..was on me and my personal needs.

Selfish and embarrassed to admit.

You can't possibly maintain everything in your life, but you can choose what's most important and go from there.

Your number one may be different from mine.  Find out what's important, and then put in the time to make it right.

You know what's broken.  Maybe it's a relationship, your health..or your faith....Or maybe it's your attitude..blaming it all on the duldrums because it's almost February and you need something or someone to take the blame.

Write it down and then forget the rest for now.  Find a therapist, trainer, friend, or church.  Commit to the process.

There might be pain from your gain, but there will also be beauty on the other side.

Remember, your perspective might be different than someone else's..

We appreciate the warm weather after a Cleveland winter..Our Floridian friends see it differently. ..And they get cocky this time of year..LOL.

Don't ever overcompensate.  Live your truth and don't be judgy.

All my best as you figure out life and the relationships in it.
