Following Russian President Vladimir Putin's launch of an invasion on Ukraine in February, there have been protests and rallies across the United States and Europe in support of the Ukrainian people.
Millions of people have fled the country and are now refugees, while those who stayed behind face increasingly difficult living conditions. There are many ways to help the people of Ukraine through donations to nonprofit organizations, crowdfunding for charities, and much more. Here are a few to check out:
The International Committee of the Red Cross and Ukrainian Red Cross Society accept donations that support humanitarian work, such as infrastructure repair, rebuilding damaged homes, providing food where they can, and giving aid to hospitals, school, community centers, and more.
Those interested in donating can send a one-time or monthly contribution to help the people of Ukraine.
Another organization to look at is the nonprofit United Help Ukraine, who receives and distributes donations, food, and medical supplies for those in need. Their fundraising also helps wounded Ukrainian soldiers, and families of those wounded or killed. Donations can be made on their website and their Facebook page through a PayPal link.
If you're looking for a different organization to help support Ukrainian soldiers, then take a look at the Army SOS website or Facebook page. Donations help provide ammunition, shields, uniforms, supplies, and more.
"Army SOS Citizen's Initiative coordinates people`s efforts to help soldiers of Ukraine," the Army SOS website said.
"We deliver all goods directly to the unit’s emplacement and pass them right to the hands of our warriors... Let's help Ukrainian Army together! Defend our Land!"
Revived Soldiers Ukraine is another nonprofit organization with most of their work going towards medical rehabilitation programs to help injured soldiers. On their Facebook page, it says they are "dedicated to providing aid to the people of Ukraine so that they may fulfill fundamental rights."
One of their current initiatives is "promoting cooperation between USA and Ukraine as to mutually beneficial social and economic programs in both countries."
For those interested in donating to a cause to help the people of Ukraine and have cryptocurrency investments, then take a look at the Come Back Alive Foundation Facebook page. They are one of the largest charities in Ukraine, donating to mostly Ukraine's military by providing supplies and equipment to soldiers.
Ways of donating that are accepted include secure money transfers and Bitcoin donations. The nongovernmental organization also works on projects that involve psychological assistance, training, and medical help.
Voices of Children is a charitable foundation that "helps children affected by the war in eastern Ukraine." They are able to assist children with psychological and psychosocial support to "overcome the consequences of armed conflict and develop."
