Reporter Richard Eldredge shares in great depth how we can help Star 94 Legend Steve McCoy as he fights his battle against Parkinson's Disease. McCoy was diagnosed with the disease in 2008 and has fought the nervous system disorder for 15 years. Vikki Locke, McCoy's radio cohost and long time friend shared with Eldredge, “I’ve learned a lot about Parkinson’s since then. It’s more than just tremors. It’s a thief. In Steve’s case, his voice has been stolen. Hard to believe, this radio legend can no longer tell me corny jokes and I really miss that.”

Fellow friends, family and avid Star 94 Listeners have the chance to help Steve McCoy by donating to a Go Fund Me page.

Vikki shares with Richard, “Assisted living is no longer an option and being a caregiver is harder than most people realize. Paying for full time care and his meds is taking its toll on his family and I felt like a fundraiser would help in some small way. Jamie Bendall and Marcey Guthrie at the Punchline didn’t hesitate when I brought up the idea.” McCoy's wife, Linda Terrana, shares that the family is grateful for all the help they've received through Vikki and that Parkinson's is a heartbreaking disease with no cure in sight. Linda goes on to say it takes a toll on families caring for loved ones fighting the disease.

It's Linda's hope that the proceeds earned through the Go Fund Me can help Steve and many others suffering from the vicious disease through local Parkinson's nonprofit organizations as well as the Michael J. Fox Foundation, a nonprofit organization McCoy worked with.
