During the height of Paris Fashion Week 2016, Kim Kardashian fell victim to a home invasion leaving her gagged and bound in her private apartment as jewel thieves made out with $10M in stolen goods. After nearly a decade, it's confirmed that the suspects allegedly involved in the crime are heading to trial, and Kardashian is going to take the stand.
At the time Kardashian was renting a private apartment for her stay during fashion week. Official reports detailed how a group of masked men, later to be dubbed the 'Grandpa Robbers' in the French media, gained access to her apartment. Kardashian was reportedly bound and gagged, and held at gunpoint. Included in the $10M heist was a $4M ring that then-husband, Kanye West gifted her.
After an extensive investigation by the French authorities in 2017, 17 suspects were arrested in connection with the crime. The 12 individuals were charged in 2021 with various offenses. Now, nearly nine years after the event, the trial is reported to begin in Paris in late April. Kardashian is ready to deliver her testimony to the jury in May. Fans can recall the reality tv star recounting the event on her famed tv show and how she felt at one point she wouldn't make it out alive. The trial is expected to be one month, and it will reveal new detail to this high-profile crime.
