We are excited to share with you our first finalists and the 2022 $15,000 Give Back Give Away with Delta Community Credit Union and Star 94. Today we shine a light on Fulton County school, Webb Bridge Middle School, where incredible 7th grade service-learning leaders created a 5K walk for water and a village to raise $15,000 to provide a clean water well through an organization called water for South Sudan. These incredible 7th graders were inspired by a book they read in class. One student said, "... they face a lot of challenges in their lives … chances of getting water borne diseases because they don't have access to resources…"
The students went as far as to create activities for people to understand the seriousness of the situation by taking a Hands-On approach. They shared.this experience opened their eyes to issues happening all over the world. The 7th graders at Webb Bridge Middle School aren't done yet, in addition to the relief they provided by helping people across the ocean they are trying to do local more specifically in Georgia.
Instead of focusing just on water they plan on expanding their services to water, food and shelter.
