Atlanta United announced striker Josef Martinez will be out 6-8 weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery to remove debris on Wednesday.
The news comes after Martinez expressed recent discomfort in his surgically repaired knee and was reexamined at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center on Monday.

According to the Voice of Atlanta United, Mike Conti, Martinez will be out at least eight matches and for the U.S. Open Cup.
The 5 Stripes next match is Sunday, April 10 against Charlotte FC at 1:30pm and can be heard on Star 94.
