Chris Rock is admitting that he jumped the vaccine line in a recent interview.
The comedy legend had a good ol’ sit-down with friend Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday to talk about his upcoming film, “Spiral: From the Book of Saw” -- an unexpected bloody horror turn for the funnyman. But it was his cracks about COVID that really cut through.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tonight Show guests of course have to be tested before they sit on Fallon’s furniture, and Rock reassured the host and viewers that he had also been vaccinated, saying, "I'm two-shots Rock, that's what they call me."
He then clarified that he actually got the Johnson & Johnson one-shot variety. “That’s the food stamps of vaccines,” Rock quipped.
All good, but then Rock blatantly admitted he pulled his celebrity card to jump the vaccine line: “I didn’t care. I used my celebrity, Jimmy. I was like, ‘Step aside, Betty White, I did ‘Pootie Tang.’ Step aside, old people.’”
He continued, "I was like Billy Zane on the Titanic. Leo [DiCaprio] died. Billy Zane lived to see another day. I don't want to be Leo at the bottom of the ocean. Billy Zane got another woman after that thing. In reality, you want to be Loe - but not in that movie."
It’s doubtful Rock’s fans would blame the comic star for employing the pandemic era’s dirty trick. They’ve already made “Spiral” the #1 film in theaters last week.
