Working Target Employees To Get Wage Increase & Will Provide Paid Leave For Those At Risk

As the severity of the coronavirus continues to make life more complicated, Target wants to help relieve some of the pressures for their employees. 

Target took to Twitter Friday to announce that they will be investing more than $300 million in its team members across the country as they work amid the coronavirus pandemic, stocking shelves, clothing racks and interacting with shoppers.

So what does this mean?

This means that there will be a $2 an hour wage increase for full-time and part-time team members through May and paid leave up to 30 days for team members who are at risk for the virus.

Not only are they increases hourly wages, they will also be providing bonuses for team leads, ranging from $250 to $1,500.

The company has already been covering quarantine and confirmed illness pay, but they will also be donating $1 million to a fund for workers most impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

And finally, on top of all that they are doing for their employees, Target says it’ll give $9 million to local communities and organizations responding to the outbreak, both nationally and internationally.
