Personally, when a recipe calls for wine, I take that as a good reason to have the leftover wine with dinner!

Fill an ice cube tray with your favorite cooking wine, and place it in the freezer.
Then, the next time you need some wine to cook with, pop out a few ice cubes and defrost them for the task.
