Does COVID-19 Have You Working From Home?

Woman working from home

Many offices are sending their employees home to work in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  So now you're at home.  Remember...you still have to work!

Honestly, that's the toughest part.  With the kids at home and all the distractions, it's going to take more to stay focused. We're doing it here at the radio station, everyone is working remotely and it's definitely different. I've been reading lots of advice on how to stay focused and how best to make it work.  I thought you might like to know what they're saying!  Sadly, they are NOT saying to binge on Netflix beginning at 10am...oh well!

Good Housekeeping has some great suggestions like:

1)  Stick to your routine - they say to still get up and take a shower and get dressed.  Don't stay in your PJ's all day!  Kinda takes the fun out of it...but ok!  By the way, my husband works from home and he doesn't follow this piece of advice...just sayin'!

2)  Set up a work station - It might seem inviting to just prop up in bed and grab your laptop, but those that work from home say a work station is the way to go.  Even if that means making it temporarily from the dining room table, it's somewhere you can walk away from when the workday is over.

3)  Stay connected to your colleagues - Check in regularly via phone or email.  Share the status of your work with your Supervisor so they know you're on top of it.
