It’s the most wonderful time of the year and of course that means it’s time to start watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” starring Indiana, PA’s own Jimmy Stewart.

“I feel the LEGO set would open up this great holiday classic to a younger generation and beyond,” Janie McKirgan of the Jimmy Stewart Museum told KDKA Radio.

A father and daughter in New York created the Grandville house, where a large portion of the movie takes place, along with the truss bridge Stewart’s character George Bailey saves the angel Clarence, Bailey’s car and the “You Are Now in Bedford Falls” sign.

The set also includes George along with his wife Mary and their children Pete, Tommy Janie and Zuzu. It also features Clarence and the evil Mr. Potter in his wheelchair.

“The film ‘It’s a Wonderful life’ is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year,” said McKirgan. “The fact that watching this movie is a family tradition in so many homes help Jimmy Stewart’s legacy continue and creates more fans. In turn, they want to visit the museum and the town he grew up in.”

If you love this set, you can help make it a reality.

If LEGO receives 10,000 votes online, the company will manufacture the set for families to build together.

The Jimmy Stewart Museum is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please call 724-349-6112 if you are planning a visit.

“It’s a Wonderful Life is ultimately about community and people helping their neighbors. That’s what the town of Indiana is all about!” adds McKirgan.
