Captain Jim Brass is back.
Paul Guilfoyle, who played the crime-fighting homicide detective on the original "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," will reprise his role in the sequel series "CSI: Las Vegas," TV Line confirmed.
Guilfoyle is one of four original CSI cast members returning to set, including show alums William Petersen (Investigator Gil Grisson), Jorja Fox (Detective Sara Sidle), and Wallace Langham (Detective David Hodges).
While Petersen, Fox, and Langham will appear as season regulars in the upcoming series, Guilfoyle is set to appear as a guest star in only two episodes, according to Deadline.

Guilfoyle previously appeared in the first 14 seasons of CSI, leaving ahead of the 15th and final season of the show in 2015.
The show is welcoming familiar faces back onto set including Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights, Kingdom), Paula Newsome (Chicago Med, Barry), Mel Rodriguez (Last Man on Earth) and Mandeep Dhillon (After Life), TV Line reports.
CSI: Las Vegas opens a new chapter for the popular drama series in the city where it all began. “Facing an existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab, a brilliant team of forensic investigators must welcome back old friends and deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City,” Deadline reports.
“Twenty-one years ago, we launched CSI and watched in awe as this new cinematic series launched an entire genre and became a groundbreaking juggernaut that still has global resonance today,” Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment told Deadline.

“We are thrilled to welcome the next generation of forensic criminalists to the CSI brand and unite them with the legendary characters from the past who we still love, including the extraordinary Billy Petersen and Jorja Fox. Crimefighting technology has advanced dramatically over the last several years, and combined with classic CSI storytelling, we can’t wait to watch this new CSI team do what they do best: follow the evidence.”
CSI: Las Vegas is set to premier in the 2021-2022 broadcast season.
