The Padres got back in the win column on Thursday night, by beating the Rockies 2-0. Randy Vasquez was fantastic, tossing six shutout frames while striking out nine and walking none, while making a case to remain in the starting rotation for the rest of the season. Luis Arraez looked like his vintage-self, going 3-4 at the dish with an RBI-single and a stolen base. Jackson Merrill's hot hitting continued, as he cleared the fence with an opposite field homer to put the Padres up 2-0. Jeremiah Estrada, Mason Miller and Robert Suarez combined for three perfect innings to close out the game, as the Padres got back on track in a big way. J.P. Sears will start for the Padres on Friday.
