AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The latest updates on the coronavirus from across Central Texas for Wednesday, June 10:
Travis County: Local health officials reported 133 new cases of COVID-19, down slightly from Tuesday's high of 161 new cases but still the second-highest daily total since the pandemic began. There are now 4,109 confirmed cases, with 3,248 recoveries and 99 deaths. There are 104 patients hospitalized across the five county metro area, with 44 in intensive care and 27 on ventilators. 24 new patients were admitted into hospitals across the five county-area Wednesday, with the 7-day moving average rising to 13.
Austin Mayor Steve Adler, former Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt, and Dr. Mark Escott will hold a news conference Thursday morning at 9 a.m. on the recent uptick in cases being reported in Travis County.
Williamson County: 18 new cases were reported Wednesday, pushing the total to 763. 533 of those are recovered, leaving 201 active with 29 deaths. 10 patients are currently hospitalized, with 5 in intensive care and 4 on ventilators.
Hays County: 27 new cases were added Wednesday, for a total of 492 confirmed cases - 230 of which are active, with 257 recoveries. 10 patients are hospitalized, an increase of 4 from Tuesday.
Bastrop County: A 67-year old man from Del Valle is the fourth person from Bastrop County to die from COVID-19. 1 new case was reported Wednesday, pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 271, with 105 recoveries.
State of Texas: Another 2,504 new cases were reported Wednesday across the state, bringing the confirmed case total to 79,757. 32 new deaths brings the total number of fatalities across the state to 1,885.
