AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A teenage driver was killed Tuesday night after crashing into a sign post on Interstate 35.
Austin Police say the crash happened just before midnight on the northbound lanes of I-35 south of Braker Lane. The 17-year old driver's vehicle left the mainlanes of the interstate and crashed into a metal sign pole in the median between the mainlanes and the frontage road.
911 calls indicated the vehicle caught on fire after the crash.
Austin-Travis County EMS reported that medics were performing CPR on the victim; he was later pronounced deceased on the scene.
