AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Monday is the last day to register to vote for the July 14 runoff and special elections, and Travis County officials are offering curbside voter registration to make it easy - and safe - for would-be voters.
The curbside service will be offered from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday at the Travis County main tax office, located at 5501 Airport Boulevard.
As drivers arrive, volunteer deputy registrars will hand motorists a voter registration application while they remain in their car. Drivers are asked to wear a mask and roll down their window to interact with the deputy registrars, who will also be wearing a mask.
Drivers can then park to fill out their applications. For safety reasons, drivers are asked to bring their own pen.
When complete, drivers can signal out their window for a deputy registrar to pick up their application, or they can drop it into one of the brown deposit boxes on-site.
Early voting for the July 14 elections begins on June 29.
