AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The Austin woman convicted last month of murdering a professional cyclist in east Austin in 2022 will appeal her sentence, according to a court filing Thursday.
Attorneys for Kaitlin Armstrong filed that notice of appeal Thursday, roughly two weeks after she was sentenced to 90 years in prison for fatally shooting Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson.
In an unrelated development in the case, the Travis County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that it will seek a dismissal of a still-pending charge of escape causing bodily injury.
The charge stems from an Oct. 11 incident where Armstrong attempted to escape from the custody of Travis County corrections officers, while attending a medical appointment in south Austin.
