AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is continuing to see record-setting passenger growth, with August passenger data showing more than 1.78 million passengers flew out of AUS over the month.

The 1.78 million passengers mark is a 37.6% increase over August 2021, good enough to mark the airport's sixth busiest month of all time.

For the eight months between January and August 2022, more than 13.75 million passengers have flown through AUS, a 79% increase over the same period in 2021 and eclipsing the airport's total for all of 2021 as well.

With four more months of passenger data still to come - including October with ACL and Formula 1 - 2022 now ranks as the airport's fourth busiest year ever.

International air travel is continuing to rebound from pandemic-related route cancellations. Air Canada and British Airways both resumed some routes late last year, while KLM, Lufthansa, and Virgin Atlantic launched nonstop routes earlier this year.
