AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- In the midst of a busy October, Austin's airport set a new record Monday for the most passengers moving through the airport in a single day.

AUS officials say 35,357 departed the airport on Monday - the day following the final weekend of this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival.

The total is just over the all-time record of 35,298 that was set just last year - on the Monday following the 2021 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

Airport officials are projecting more than 22 million people will fly out of AUS this year, up from 13.5 million in 2021. So far, through the end of August, more than 13.7 million passengers have flown out of AUS this year.
