AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A bomb threat at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Friday morning was cleared without incident, but added to delays travelers were already experiencing with security checkpoints.

Airport officials first reported the bomb threat in the baggage claim area just before 10 a.m. Friday morning. Vehicle traffic was being diverted to the upper level dropoff area, while officials said Baggage Carousel #1 was cordoned off inside.

Travelers were already facing significant delays getting through security checkpoints, with reported delays of 2 hours or longer. Officials said as of 9:30 a.m., security waiting times had improved, but busy lines were expected to return again during peak travel times.
