AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Moderate to heavy rains fell across much of Central Texas Monday morning, prompting low water crossings to be closed and causing isolated flooding across the area.
Widespread totals of 2-3 inches of rain fell across much of the area, including more than 3 inches at both Camp Mabry and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport - setting new records for both official observation sites.
More than 80 low water crossings were closed as of 2 p.m. according to ATXFloods.com, spread across Travis, Williamson, and Hays Counties.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected to pick back up overnight into Tuesday morning, with rain chances continuing into late Wednesday. Tuesday's flash flood risk increases slightly for the entire metro area, with the risk shifting east on Wednesday.
