BASTROP, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- A 25-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly opened fire at a local Home Depot, leaving several vehicles damaged.
The Bastrop Police Department identified the suspect as Kobe Lee Mosser.
Authorities received reports of an "active shooter" at the 100 block of Hunters Crossing Boulevard at approximately 3:49 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene in the retail parking lot.
According to the department, Mosser allegedly entered the lot and began firing an AR-15 rifle "indiscriminately" from the rear of his vehicle. Witnesses and police accounts indicate that Mosser eventually exited his vehicle to continue the assault on foot.
A Bastrop police officer confronted Mosser and placed him under arrest without further incident.
“There is no ongoing threat to the public,” a spokesperson for the Bastrop Police Department stated, confirming that Mosser is believed to have acted alone.
While the gunfire struck multiple vehicles, officials confirmed that no bystanders or officers were injured during the spree. The department is currently assessing the extent of the property damage as the investigation continues.
