AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the Oak Hill area in southwest Austin Thursday evening.
Police were called to the Country Aire Mobile Home Park at 8220 West State Highway 71 around 6 p.m. Thursday. A 911 caller reported hearing multiple gunshots and found a male victim outside, who appeared to be "beyond help."
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 19-year old white male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased on the scene a short time later.
It's not clear if the victim was a resident of the mobile home park. Police would only say that he was found outside of a unit with his injuries.
Police said there is no suspect in custody at this time; an investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call APD's Homicide tip line at (512) 477-3588.
This is being investigated as Austin's 79th homicide of 2021, and the second in less than 12 hours on Thursday.
