LEANDER, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- The City of Leander is urging residents to conserve water and reduce demand on the city's water supply, as cold temperatures and intermittent power outages are impacting the city's infrastructure.
City officials say they're operating on reserve water supplies, but a loss of water service to all city customers is a possibility.
Residents are urged to do the following to conserve:
*Avoid using dishwashers and washing machines, if you have power
*Shorten or delay showers and baths
*Switch to using disposable utensils and bottled water
Dripping faucets should be continued to sustain water flow and prevent freezing pipes, but officials urge minimal water use beyond that.
