Rounds of showers, storms likely Tuesday as flood threat continues

(Talk1370.com) -- Heavy rains will be likely over the next 24-48 hours as potentially 6-8 inches of rain fall across Central Texas.

A Flash Flood WATCH remains in effect for all of the Austin metro area until 1PM Thursday...


Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue to push through the area, with a chance for possibly severe storms later this evening and tonight. Highs will struggle to reach into the lower 80s, with winds out of the southeast at 10 to 20mph.

Showers and storms will continue Tuesday night, with lows falling into the upper 60s. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10 to 15mph, with gusts to 25mph.

WEDNESDAY...Showers and thunderstorms likely in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Temperature steady or slowly falling in the afternoon. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Lows in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

THURSDAY...Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Highs in the upper 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

THURSDAY NIGHT...Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 60s.
